The Woodstock Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on   

Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

Public Meeting Room, Woodstock Town Office Building, 165 Lost River Road.

Regarding: Floodplain Management Ordinance Adoption

The planning board requests your presence at this public hearing to hear and review the Woodstock Floodplain Management Ordinance Draft prepared by the Planning Board, as required under RSA 674:56 before adoption at the March 14th Town Meeting.

This ordinance is a necessary part of Woodstock’s enrollment in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Certain areas of the Town of Woodstock, New Hampshire are subject to periodic flooding, causing serious damages to properties within these areas. Relief is available in the form of flood insurance as authorized by the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968. Therefore, the Town of Woodstock, New Hampshire has chosen to become a participating community in the National Flood Insurance Program, and agrees to comply with the requirements of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (P.L. 90-488, as amended) as detailed in this Floodplain Management Ordinance.
