Moosilauke Public Library has received the Kids, Books, and the Arts grant

Moosilauke Public Library has received the Kids, Books, and the Arts grant to present Squam Lakes Natural Science Center’s Stories on the Wild Side. This program will be presented on Wednesday August 26, 2020 at 3:30pm at the Kanc. Recreation area in Lincoln, NH.

Reading and science come together in this fun program blending storytelling with up close encounters with three live, native, New Hampshire wild animals. Animal characters in stories are often very different from real animals, but we can still learn important truths about animals through stories. A naturalist will read aloud short stories featuring animals and the natural world, and then introduce one or two of the story’s wild characters. Visits with live animals featured in the tales will challenge kids to separate fact from fiction.

This program is free and open to all. There will be family circles, so remember to bring your own blanket to sit on. No bathroom facilities will be available. All participants will be asked to wear a mask during the program. Masks will be available if you do not have one. Please contact the Moosilauke Public Library with question.

This program is made possible by a Kids, Books, and the Arts grant. Funding for the Kids, Books and the Arts event is provided by the Saul O. Sidore Memorial Foundation in memory of Rebecca Lee Spitz, a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts & the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
